Toneno Ossai – Practicum Intern. Available for sessions starting May 1st 2025.
Hello, my name is Toneno Ossai, and I am a practicum intern from Yorkville University, pursuing my Master’s in Counselling Psychology. I hold both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Guidance and Counselling, which have provided me with a strong foundation in supporting individuals through life’s challenges.
I am deeply committed to fostering a therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, respected, and valued. My approach is rooted in warmth, empathy, and unconditional positive regard, ensuring that each session is a collaborative space for personal growth. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate concerns such as anxiety, identity exploration, mental health challenges, and life transitions while acknowledging and respecting their unique cultural and personal experiences.
My practice is informed by evidence-based approaches, and I continuously seek to integrate the most effective strategies to meet clients where they are in their journey. In addition to my work at the Centre, I dedicate time to volunteering and co-facilitating therapeutic support groups focused on boundary setting and personal development.
Outside of my professional commitments, I enjoy cooking, creating meaningful connections with family and friends, and engaging in activities that promote both personal and community well-being.
*Toneno’s sessions are offered at a lower rate, and she is able to provide a sliding scale. If this would be beneficial for you, please contact our office for more details.*
