MC, Registered Provisional Psychologist
Hello, My name is Edlyn, and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist. I completed my Master’s degree in Counselling at City University in Seattle. I am excited to be back at the Calgary Mental Health & Wellness Centre after recently completing my residency at the Calgary Counselling Centre. I have experience working with children, teens, and adults with a broad range of mental health needs. Prior to entering the field of psychology, I gained valuable life and volunteer experience that deeply influences how I connect and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
My approach is client-focused, meeting clients where they are and tailoring sessions to fit their unique needs and goals. I draw on a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. I also integrate attachment and polyvagal theories and incorporate play techniques when working with children.
I am particularly passionate about supporting individuals experiencing infertility or childlessness and helping them navigate the impact these challenges can have on their lives. I also have experience working with clients managing stress, anxiety, depression, and relational concerns.
I strive to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard and understood. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is at the core of my practice. I aim to help clients explore new solutions, discover their strengths, and build confidence in their potential as they work toward positive and lasting change.
